Cheryl was born on July 24, 1952, in Marshall, Texas. She transitioned on April 15, 2018, in Plano, Texas, at age 65.
Cheryl graduated from H. B. Pemberton High School in Marshall and went on to attend Bishop College where she earned two degrees. Upon earning her Master's degree in accounting, she began employment with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) which ensures the integrity of the government contracting process and provides a range of contract-procurement management services. After a life-long career with DCMA (approximately 43 years), Cheryl retired in January 2018 as an auditor.
Cheryl professed a belief in Christ early in life. She was a member of North Dallas Comunity Bible Fellowship. Among many hobbies and interests, Cheryl enjoyed shopping, cars, action movies, and traveling. She also delighted in helping others, especially young people.
Joyful. Adventurous. Sociable. Caring. Compassionate. Loving. Supportive. Cheryl Waters Maxwell will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cheryl was predeceased by her father, Augustus Leon Waters, Sr., and brother, Augustus Leon Waters, Jr. Those left to cherish precious memories include her son, Christopher Allen and his wife, Sommer; mother, Eula Mae Waters; brother, David Gregory; dear cousins: Pamela Collins, Felicia Jackson-Johnson, Emma Allen, Glenda Jackson, and Julius Jackson, Jr.; niece, Tiffani Butler; nephews: Patrick Waters and Michael Waters; and a host of other relatives and friends.
