Dan King, Jr. was born on January 27, 1940. He transitioned on March 10, 2018, at age 78. 

Dan was predeceased by his parents, Dan King, Sr. and Ruby Robinson King; sister, Gwendolyn King; and sister, Ruby Lee Lyons. 

Those left to cherish precious memories include his wife, Jeanette; children: Anginette Alexander, Wendy King-Fisher, and Dan Kevin King; grandchildren: Meagan Taylor, Antonia Alexander, Selena Alexander, Kevi King, Makalah Alexander, and Kwame King; great-grandchildren: Kamryn Coleman, La'Niah Cole, London Taylor, Krisley Cole, Zoe Humphrey, Ethan Taylor, Donovan Alexander, and Journie Ross; siblings: Betty Curtis (Russell), James King (Roxanne), Robert King (Rosalyn), Larry King, Dr. Dwight King (Debra), and Yvonne King; dear friends: Darren Humphrey, Chandra Wilson, Tejia Ray, and Tyra Smiley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
