Esther Lee Wright Fuqua was born on December 3, 1926, in Garland, Texas to the late Delmar and Ruby Wright. Surrounded by her loving family, she transitioned to eternity with her Lord on June 16, 2018, in Rowlett, Texas.

She united in holy matrimony to the late Melvin Lockett, Sr. To their union, three children were born. After his death, she married the late James Fuqua, Jr. To their union, five children were born.

At an early age, Esther united with Davis Chapel Church of God in Christ. In the late 40's, she united with Zion Baptist Church in Rowlett, Texas, where she served as President of the choir and the advisor for over 30 years.
