On January 26, 1975, James Rodgers IV began his journey of a time to be born and on Sunday, December 30, 2018, he arrived at his time to die.
He was the only son and older of two children born to Becky Henry Rodgers and James Rodgers III. He never married, and he had no children.
James was a graduate of J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas. He continued his education locally and at out-of-state colleges. He was educated and certified in several fields of the computer technology industry. His career included photography, computer consulting, and computer technology. He enjoyed working as a computer technician. He built and continued to maintain computers for family and friends.
A lifelong member of Lee Chapel AME Church in Dallas, James delighted in skiing, bowling, ice skating, swimming, and playing pool in which he was a part of a tournament team. He was a very friendly person who never met strangers and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. James will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
James was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jerlene Henry; paternal grandfather, James Rodgers, Jr.; maternal uncle, John Pate; paternal aunt, Patricia Jackson; and niece, Aria Nicole Lopes. Those left to cherish precious memories include his father, James Rodgers III; mother, Becky Henry Rodgers; sister, Katrena Rodgers Lopes and her husband, Damian Lopes; nephew, Trent Rodgers; niece, Kadence Arial Lopes; maternal grandfather, Bobby Henry; paternal grandmother, Bobbie Foreman and her husband, Willie Foreman; maternal aunts, Rev. Dorothy Pate and Pamela Boone; maternal uncle, Darren Henry; paternal aunts: Janice Weaver, Avis Henry and her husband, Billy Henry, Sharon Brown, and Sherry Rodgers; paternal uncles: Rev. Larry Rodgers and his wife, Lily Rodgers, Clifford Rodgers and his wife, Cheryl Rodgers, Victor Rodgers, Darrel Rodgers, and Glenn Rodgers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
