The Ondrusek family mourns the loss of Joseph Carl Ondrusek, Sr., who passed away on April 18, 2018, in Dallas, Texas surrounded by loved ones.

Joe began his career at Columbia Packing Co., Inc in 1967 joining his brothers Billy and Bob along with his father Willie. He began as a truck driver, enjoyed his work in the accounting department as well as numerous production roles, and became President of Columbia in 1978.  Just this last year, he celebrated with his colleagues and family his 50th anniversary with Columbia Packing. Joe, along with the Ondrusek family, was awarded The Century Award from the Southwest Meat Association in 2013.

Joe was married to Timpy in 1973 in Dallas, Texas.

Joe was a member of Dallas Fort Worth Grocers Association in which he served on the Board of Directors. He was a founding member of the Texas Spurs, the social arm of the Texas Retail Grocers. He also served on the Sunnyvale School Board for four years before becoming President his final year.

Making friends and memories all along the way, he and Timpy traveled throughout the United States with the Corvette Club. His travels did not end there, as he continued to snow ski every chance he could. He also enjoyed yellowfin tuna fishing and traveling abroad. Joe never met a beach that he did not love.
