Joyce Muse Williams Obituary

Joyce was born on January 15, 1946, the third child born to Isaac Muse, Sr. and Mable Menser Muse in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She transitioned to eternity with her Lord on September 22, 2018, in Dallas, Texas, at age 72.

In 1964, Joyce completed her early education at Douglas High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She continued her education and studied at South Oklahoma City Junior College where she received her Surgical Technician license. She later attended Collin County Community College where she studied World History and Texas History. Joyce had a great love for learning.

She met Joe Dunn, and a beautiful daughter was born to this union, Gaylor. She moved to Dallas, Texas, in 1981. For many years, she had her own business, Past Perfect Designs which was a high-end women’s boutique. She personally handpicked each piece that was featured in her shop. No product could have a blemish. She often traveled to different cities and states to source the various items sold in her boutique.

Joyce had an incredibly warm persona and never met a stranger. For many years, she contributed her talents and skills in private in-home nursing for various families with whom she maintained long-lasting, personal relationships.

Joyce was a Godly woman that truly loved the Lord. Anywhere she went, she would light a room with her warm and caring spirit. Joyce loved her family and went above and beyond to demonstrate that love. Any time you received a gift from her, you could also expect to get a Daily Bread booklet, which was her signature way of spreading God’s word. When it came to the fibers of her family, she was the glue that held the family together. Family ties were important to Joyce, and she would go the extra mile to strengthen those ties.

She was predeceased by her oldest brother, Isaac Muse, Jr.; father, Isaac Muse, Sr.; and mother, Mable Muse. Those left to cherish precious memories include her daughter, Gaylor Dunn-Day (Dewayne); grandchildren: Chaya Drake, Lexxus Armani, Jaylen Dunn, Keyleb Dunn, Adomnia Gist, Cree Gist, and Julian Dunn; great-grandson, Cayson Drake; step-son, Raque Gaddis; godchildren: Jasheena Anderson (Anthony), Gina Williams (Lee), Tonya Edwards; siblings: Calvino Muse, Sr. (Shirley), Mary Ann Muse, Richard Muse, and Jerry Muse, Sr. (Brenda); sister-in-law, Linda Ann Muse; uncle, Robert Muse, Sr. (Mable); her special canine companions, Snickers and Sasha; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
