Julia Alexander Obituary

Julia Grant Alexander was born on September 13, 1925, in Dallas, Texas, to the parentage of John Grant and Princella Wheeler. She transitioned to eternity with her Lord on December 20, 2018, in Dallas, Texas, at age 93.

Julia graduated from high school and went on to attend college where she focused on nursing. She married the love of her life, Clarence James Alexander. To their union, four beautiful children were born: three sons and a daughter. The two remained united for 71 years until Clarence's transition on August 26, 2016.

Alongside her husband, Julia was a founding member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church where she labored with great devotion under the leadership of the late Dr. Robert E. Price and her husband who served in various roles, including Finance Committee Chair, Chairman of Deacons, and Sunday School Superintendent. Julia served as a mentor to many young women, as she personified the example of a Godly wife and mother. She worked faithfully as a deaconess and in the women's ministry.

Julia leaves a legacy of wisdom shared throughout the years with so many. She will be fondly remembered for her wise nature, candid interaction, and graceful presence.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandchild; husband; and son, John Herbert Alexander, Sr. Those left to cherish precious memories include her sons, James Preston Alexander (Ingrid) and Harold Douglas Alexander; daughter, Rosiland Ella Alexander; daughter-in-law, Shirley Alexander; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; the New Mount Zion Church Family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
