Born on November 5, 1956, in Stuttgart, Germany, Kirk transitioned to eternity on December 7, 2017, in Dallas, Texas, at age 61.
One of three children born to Robert and Geraldine Callahan, Kirk graduated from Richardson High School in 1974. He played football as early as his middle school years through high school. He went on to attend Texas Tech University where he focused on Business.
Kirk began his career as a meat cutter at Safeway. He transitioned to Budget Rental Car in the late 80's and was recognized yearly for outstanding sales. After about 15 years, Kirk returned to his craft in the grocery business as the Market Manager for Albertsons.
Among many hobbies, Kirk was a sports fanatic. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed being a Booster Club dad for his daughter's high school band.
Strong-willed. Jovial. Caring. Political. Personable. Kirk will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Kirk was predeceased by his father, Robert Isaac Callahan. Those left to cherish precious memories include his daughter, Kira Callahan-Carter (David "Dave"); granddaughters who affectionately regarded him as "Papa", Kelly and Haley Carter; mother, Geraldine Ivonne Callahan; brother, Rondey Callahan (Teresita "Terrie"); sister, Shreill Callahan-Hardin (Marvin "Michael"); nieces and nephew: Rylie Hardin, Mark Salvador (Jesabel), and Richelle Salvador; aunts, Selena Dorsey; Canary Bursey; uncle, John Williams; special cousins: Kristi Lockett, Sondra Martin, Barbara Ann Callahan, Kimberly Bursey Reese, and Trisha Bursey Elmore; and a host of other relatives and friends.
