On September 7, 1911, a beautiful baby girl was born to the late Elgin and Amanda Anderson in Grimes County, Texas. They named her Lillian Elizabeth.
She attended school and began working at a young age, as was common in the early 1900's. She later moved to Rosebud, Texas. In 1932, she met and married the love of her life, Mr. Eddie Giles. To their union, four daughters were born.
Lillian professed her love for Christ at an early age. She served in the church throughout her life. At the time of her transition, she was a member of Greater North Park Church of God in Christ in Dallas, Texas, where she served as Church Mother until she became ill. Her faith in the Lord was remarkable and exemplary, as she never wavered in her trust that God was with her. She was always a woman of God...a true trailblazer for righteousness.
Among many hobbies, Lillian loved spending countless hours outdoors working in her garden, tending to her plants, vegetables, and flowers. She most enjoyed being with her family. Affectionately regarded as "Big Momma", Lillian will be long remembered for her everlasting love and devotion to her family and friends.
Early on the morning of November 5, 2019, Mother Giles was carried into eternal rest. She joined her husband, Eddie Giles; daughter, Lola Giles; five brothers; and five sisters who preceded her in passing.
Those left to cherish her life, love and legacy of five generations include her three daughters: Lula Henderson, Eddie Mae Gardner, and Bertha Daniels - all of Irving, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
