Margie Louise (Stewart) Hill

October 13, 1925 ~ January 4, 2018 (age 92) 92 Years Old

On the thirteenth day of October, year of nineteen hundred twenty-five, in Jacksonville, Texas, D. C. and Eddie Faye Stewart welcomed their first child, Margie Louise.

Mother, as she was affectionately regarded, completed her primary education in Jacksonville, Texas and her secondary education in Ennis, Texas.  Upon graduation from high school, she attended Prairie View A&M College where she majored in Education.

On April 1, 1946, Mother married her high school sweetheart, our father, James F. Hill (who preceded her in death in November 1998).  They were married for fifty-two years.  To this union, eight children were born.  She was a loving and dedicated wife and sister.  Most of all, she was a loving, giving, and all-encompassing mother, grandmother and great- grandmother.

At an early age, Mother joined the Rising Star Baptist Church, in Jacksonville, Texas.  After her marriage, she united with the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ennis.  As a member of Bethlehem, she sang in the choir and was a diligent and faithful member of the Fellowship League.

After 92 years, Mother departed this life on Thursday, January 4, 2018.

She will be forever loved and remembered by her eight children: Ruth Ann, Bennette Rene’, James II (Cynthia), Dwayne Bernard (Gabriella), Emerson Donald (Jacqueline), Reginald Thomas (Gwendolyn), Juanice LaRue, and Glenda; 19 grandchildren: Monica, Shante’ (James), Herman (Tiffany), Kimberly , Kristie (Daman), Jerome, Felecia, Shameka (Daryl), Tamesha, Shanadrian, Mitzi, Dondre’,  Velyn (Brandon), Reginald II, Annie, Frederick, Lindsey, Ellis II and Emory; 38 great-grands and two great-great-grands; one sister, Mary Myers (Fonzell); three nieces: Lanitia, Plashett, and Latricia; loving cousins, Arthur Gillum (Alice) of Dallas, Texas and Joyce Silmon of Jacksonville, Texas; and a host of relatives and friends.
