Mary was born on January 20, 1936, in Austin, South Carolina. With her daughters at her side, she transitioned to eternity on January 15, 2018, in Dallas, Texas, at age 81.
Mary married Marion Ray "Raymond" Flood in 1959 in Buffalo, New York. The two remained united for more than 55 years until Raymond's transition in 2016. Mary worked in textile assembly for many years until her retirement. Among many hobbies, she delighted in gardening, sewing, walking, and caring for others. She attended and faithfully supported St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dallas.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, J.C. Mahaffey and Bertha Walker; her son, James Wallace Boozer; and her husband. Those left to cherish precious memories include her three daughters: Pamela Flood Klass (Philip), Selena Flood, and Tracy Flood; granddaughters, Kayli and Kenna Klass; brother, Robert "Bobby" Mahaffey (Annette); nephews and niece: Leeword Mahaffey (Juanita), Tony Mahaffey (Sophia), Todd Mahaffey (Tonia), and Michelle Hawthorne (Hamilton); special niece, Marice Lynch; special cousins, Wallace Fuller, Michael Harper, and Nataan Smith (Shondra); God-grandson, Quinten Stephens; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mary's wish is for memorials, in lieu of flowers, to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her name.
