R.D. Gardner

Born on August 4, 1944, in Linden Texas to the parentage of R.P. Gardner and Elnora Gardner, R.D. transitioned to be with his Lord and Savior on July 21, 2019 in Dallas, Texas, at age 74.   

R.D. attended school in the Linden Independent School District in Linden, Texas.  He was very handy with his hands.  He was self-employed and worked in construction for many years.   

He was a faithful member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir and ushering on the usher board.  He enjoyed bible study, musicals, revivals, visiting with friends, and telling old stories. His gentle, quiet spirit will be deeply missed by all who were blessed with his presence. 

R.D. was preceded in death by his parents, R.P. Gardner and Elnora Gardner; sister, Verna Lee; brother, Willie D. Gardner; sister, Mattie Garner; brother, Oscar Vatin; sister, Lillie Rodgers; and sister, Pauline Morrow. 

Those left to cherish precious memories include his sisters, Era Williams and Leola Scott-Lee (Jessie); brother, Wilford Gardner (Gaynel); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
