Ray L. Raney

Ray Raney was born on October 17, 1948, in Grand Saline, Texas. He passed away on September 30, 2019, in Garland, Texas, at age 70. 

Ray graduated from Samuel High School. He went on to graduate from the University of North Texas. Ray enlisted in the United States Air Force and was affectionately regarded as "Rapid Ray Raney". He proudly served his country until being honorably discharged in June of 1995. He enjoyed a career as a commercial pilot. After 37 years of dedicated service with various airlines, including US Airways, Ray retired. 

Ray was predeceased by his parents, Chad Edward Raney and Hazel Louise Coffman Raney; and sister, Anita Raney. Those left to cherish precious memories include the mother of his children and wife of 32 years, Lynn Raney; son, Joshua Hartz (Lindsey); son, David Raney; daughter, Sarah Newbury (Jamie); and grandchildren: Taylor Hartz, Ryan Hartz, and Ella Newbury.
