Ronald "Ronnie" Eugene Webb was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Key Webb, Jr and Florence Strother Webb on June 26, 1953. He received his call home on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the age 64, in Plano, Texas.
Affectionately known as “Spider Webb”, Ronnie graduated from Ponca City High School in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He went on to attend Oklahoma State University. He later enlisted in the United States Navy where he served one tour in Vietnam with the SEABEES. After he was discharged from the United States Navy, Ronald relocated to Dallas, Texas. He was a member of Mount Hebron Missionary Baptist Church in Garland and the Texas Sports Officials Association.
Ronnie was a man of great accomplishments, hobbies, and interests. Ronnie helped open the Attucks Community Center in Ponca City and became the first facility administrator. He operated Attucks for several years before moving to Dallas, Texas. He owned and operated Spider Lawn Service and had a reputation for being one of the most reliable contractors in the area until his health began to decline. From these services, Ronnie developed a close relationship with several members of the Dallas Cowboys football team. He also proved his ability by becoming a NCAA Division 1 umpire and made a brief but rewarding trip to Major League Baseball in the mid ‘80s. Ronnie was very active in coaching little league baseball all around the Dallas area. Ronnie was also an avid fisher.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Key and Florence Webb, Jr.; stepfather, James Brown; siblings: Jeffery and Terrance Brown, Mike and Mark Webb, and Tonda Frederick Anderson.
Those left to continue his legacy include his son, Clayton Webb of Dallas, Texas; daughters: Anidra Webb Johnson (Tommy) of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Veronica Webb Fuzz (Damien) and Felecia Webb, both of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren: Clayton Webb, Jr. (Morgan), Malcolm, Marcus and Joseph Webb, Kazhir Cooper (Brook), Katerah and Tommy, Jr. Johnson, Sonya, Elijah, and Rose Fuzz, and Ethan Willis; and six great-grandchildren.
He will also be cherished by siblings: Wanda Wallace, Kenneth Webb (Tammy) of Oklahoma City, Brenda Webb Powell (Roland) of League City, Texas, Norris Frederick (Sue) of Ponca City, Marcus Frederick, Oklahoma City, Dannye Webb (Connie) of Plano, TX, Kim Brown Dewberry (Ron) of Oklahoma City, Kevin Brown (Barbara) of El Centro, California, and Claudia Brown Berry (Dennis) of Midwest City, Oklahoma; mothers of his children: Jackie Dewberry, Velda Murray and Coreatha Webb ; long time and great friends, Ed and Doris Charles; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
