Thelma Jewell Greenlee was born on November 5, 1935, in Glenwood, Arkansas. She transitioned to eternity with her Lord on January 18, 2019, in Dallas, Texas, at age 83.
Thelma graduated from American School of Correspondence. She went on to enjoy a longtime career in retail.
On April 8, 1955, she married the love of her life, Mr. Homer Greenlee. One beautiful daughter was born to their union. The two remained united until his transition on February 17, 1984.
Among many hobbies, Thelma enjoyed studying the Bible, writing poetry and songs, and sewing. She truly delighted in helping others. She accepted Christ as her Lord at an early age and worshipped with the Church of God and Assemblies of God.
A hardworking, tenacious, independent, determined, caring, and compassionate woman of remarkable strength, Thelma Jewell Greenlee will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Thelma was predeceased by her parents, Elmer Richards and Roxie Hoskison Richards Talkington; her husband, Homer Greenlee; and three brothers: Ralph, Troy, and Ronnie Richards. Those left to cherish sweet memories include her daughter, LaVerna Greenlee; granddaughter, Sacoria Stixrud and her husband, Sean; grandson, Shane Greenlee; great-grandson, Noah Stixrud; siblings: Olive Williams and her husband, Gary, Ernie Richards and his wife, Martha, David Richards and his wife, Rhonda, and Betty Lane; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
