Willie Fred Taylor, better-known as "Fred", graced this life on March 13, 1946. Fred was the eldest son of Ashley and Bessie Taylor. At an early age, others could see something special and unique about Fred. If you met him, you could not help but like and appreciate his witty, kind, meek, and humble spirit.
Fred was a 1964 Trojan graduate of Douglas High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Fred graduated from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He also attended National Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he earned a master’s degree in Business Administration.
Fred was pursuing his doctorate in ATTEMPTING TO MANAGE his wife, Onda, of 50 plus years. He met Onda in kindergarten. They attended school together for elementary, junior high, high school, and college - Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. Fred and Onda even worked together at Kinards Grocery Store. On May 5, 1968, Fred made Onda Brooks his wife for life.
Fred began his career at Western Electric. Throughout numerous mergers and acquisitions, he continued to excel and concluded his career as an Officer and President with AT&T after 39 years of service.
The Bible states, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.” Psalm 37:23. Fred accepted Christ at an early age and continued to grow spiritually throughout his life. In the Body of Christ, Fred held various positions, including deacon, elder, and financial consultant. Whenever Fred relocated to another city, it was always a priority for his family to connect with a Godly Church. It has been said by many that when God created Fred, He threw away the mold. Fred was one-of-a-kind...Godly, honest, loving, and kind. He was a man of integrity who loved family and friends, was highly respected, and was loved by many. What a man!!! What A man!!!
Fred was predeceased by his parents; brother, Ashley Monroe “Big” Taylor, Jr.; sister, Sylvia Cooksey; and brother, Roland Taylor. Those left to cherish his loving and lasting legacy include his wife, Onda; sons: Freddie, Lance (Piotrek Krol), and Tracy (Michelle); grandchildren: Markee, Freddie, Jasmine, Farah, Raven, Savannah, Chance, Rickson, McKenzie, Rhyleigh, and Zaydrian; great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Taylor; sister, Patricia Robinson; nieces and nephews: Kevin Campbell (Indira), Brian Taylor, Lanece Green (Lamont ), Lavaul Taylor, Jabari Wamble (Marissa), Vernon Robinson, Jr. (Cathy), Malakia Kingsbury (Michael), Jason Robinson (Tyisha), and Kimberlee Gay (Brandon); and a host of other nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will also be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 10, 2018, at
Temple & Sons Funeral Directors in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
