Wyndolyn Joe Blaylock was born on December 25, 1949 to Burl B. Blaylock, Jr. and Mahalia Casteel in Douglasville, Texas. He transitioned to eternity on October 6, 2019, in Carrollton, Texas, at age 69.
Joe, as he was affectionately regarded, received his formal education in Dallas, Texas from J.N. Ervin High School though he loved to return to Douglasville as much as he could to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family. He took his last trip there on Sunday, February 17, 2019.
Among many hobbies, Joe enjoyed breaking horses, fishing, and playing dominoes and cards. He also enjoyed the outdoors and listening to music. He established a shoe-shining company, The Shine Boss, where he labored until his health began to decline.
Joe was a loving man who had a memorable sense of humor, was outspoken, and believed in being a provider. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by both parents; his first wife, Betty; and his brother, Clarence C. Blaylock. Those left to cherish precious memories include his wife, Pamela Blaylock; daughter, Wyndolyn Raquell Blaylock Watkins (Leonard); daughter, Aerial Sisson Arnold Blaylock; grandsons whom he loved dearly: Kendall J. Watkins, Tyler J. Watkins, and Chancellor St. John Watkins; siblings: Daisy Marie Blaylock Ollie (Fletcher), Burl Bailey Blaylock III (LeShanta), and Cedric Benard Blaylock (Marion); aunts: Jewell Faye Blaylock, LaRuth Casteel, and Maggie Lou Casteel; uncle, Brice Lee Roberson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
