Albert Earl Powell, Jr., affectionately known as “Boone,” was born on April 6, 1974, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Eunice Mayzes and Albert Earl Powell, Sr. He departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lasting memories.
Boone was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep love for sports, especially cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and enjoying a game of basketball. Known for his warm spirit and presence, he touched the lives of many and will be remembered for the love he shared with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Altha Lee Mayzes; his aunt, Artnice Mayzes; and his cousin, Phillip Meyers.
Those left to cherish precious memories include his loving mother, Eunice Mayzes Powell of Princeton, Texas; his father, Albert Earl Powell, Sr. of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; his three children, Xavier Powell of Dallas, Texas, Brittany Powell of Dallas, Texas, and Raymond Powell of Dallas, Texas, of whom he was immensely proud; his loving grandchildren, Navarro, Skylar, and Kimora, who brought him great joy; his brothers, Timothy Brooks of Dallas, Texas, and Brent Powell (Latasha) of Mesquite, Texas; his sisters, Stacy Mayzes of Richardson, Texas, and Sherilyn Powell of Princeton, Texas; his aunts, Bertha Tindall and Beatrice Mayzes, both of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Elnora Herd (Sheldon) of Simpsonville, North Carolina; his uncles, Reverend Henry Mayzes (Ruthie Lee) of Roscoe, Illinois, Major McKay of Los Angeles, California, and Eddie Iverson of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Boone’s life will forever be remembered for his love of family, his passion for sports, and the impact he made on those around him. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
“Gone but never forgotten.”
