Alesia Ramona (Henderson) Starr was born in Hillsboro, Texas, on December 5, 1965. The daughter of the late Jasper Henderson and Willie Jean Thomas, Alesia passed away in Plano, Texas, on November 16, 2024.
Alesia’s early years were spent in Cameron, Texas, where she attended Cameron schools. After high school, she relocated to the Dallas area. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Southern Methodist University.
Upon graduation, she began her professional career at MCI where she would ultimately meet her life partner, Michael Starr. Alesia and Michael were married on April 30, 1994. Together, they had one spectacular daughter, Bijan Starr. Alesia was a loving and doting mother to Bijan. She instilled values, work ethic, commitment, discipline, and hard work. Alesia was unselfish and sacrificed a lot to provide for Michael and Bijan.
Alesia was filled with enthusiasm and zest for life. She brought tremendous energy to all relationships. Her face always beamed with a bright and inviting smile. She had a kind and compassionate heart. Her family and friends will fondly remember her for her genuine and warm spirit.
Alesia enjoyed domestic travel with our beloved family and friends from coast to coast. She also delighted in planning fun leisure events such as college football tailgating at SMU and quarterly happy hours. She enjoyed being involved with a variety of school events. Alesia served the community, especially her family's church communities, by serving on the finance committee, participating in the Ringing Bells group, and assisting with children’s ministry responsibilities.
Alesia leaves a host of family and friends to cherish lasting memories, including the love of her life, Michael Starr; her loving daughter of whom she was very proud, Bijan Starr; David Lee Thomas, Janice Thomas, and Reggie Starr; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
God has given us many stars to shine
Many flowers to bloom
Many friends to cherish
But only one wife and mother to remember.
