Alex Bruce McLennan, Jr. was born to Alex Bruce McLennan, Sr. and Claire Evelyn King McLennan in Stamford, Texas (Jones County). He passed away on February 20, 2023, in Dallas, Texas.
Alex graduated from Paint Creek High School in Haskell County, Texas, and continued on to receive two Bachelor of Science degrees from Abilene Christian University, one in Agriculture with a minor in Recreation and one in Petroleum Geology with a minor in Chemistry.
Alex was a good, honorable man. Besides being a professional, he was a jack-of-all-trades who was not afraid to tackle anything, especially for his family and friends. Born and raised on a farm, he had a real love for animals, especially dogs. He also had a special place in his heart for the elderly and widows, and he would come to their aid whenever needed. In Alex’s life, he thrived on challenges and had many experiences which he enjoyed sharing with everyone. Oftentimes, his sharing brought many a good laugh. When he saw a potential danger, he did not look the other way or simply do nothing. Rather, he would not hesitate to step forward to ward off a bad situation.
One of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Alex will be fondly remembered for his courageous, friendly, and kind nature. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex Bruce McLennan, Sr. and Claire Evelyn McLennan; his sister, Claire Ann McLennan; and his twin brother, Allan King McLennan. He is survived by his wife, Patricia J. McLennan; his sister, Mary Lou Lively; his nephews - Mark Allan, John Scott McLennan, Robert Bruce Schuchert, and Jerry Allen Schuchert; his three stepchildren - Jason E. Gutierrez, Patrick I. Gutierrez, and Robyn M. Vaughan; and a host of family and friends to cherish fond memories.
