Allies Louise (Wells) Russell was born on October 26, 1943, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. She peacefully passed away in her sleep on September 6, 2023, at the age of 79 in McKinney, Texas.
Allies attended Mount Pleasant High School and later pursued a career as a chef for the Iowa Farm Bureau. Her cooking skills were enjoyed by all, and she brought joy to others through her delicious food.
In her spare time, Allies loved watching basketball and could impressively list all the players and teams. Allies enthusiastically cheered on her grandson, Braxton, at all of his basketball games. She also enjoyed watching soap operas. Allies had a playful side and enjoyed playing games and winning prizes at Belterra Nursing Home. In her final days, Allies found solace in singing and praising God. When she lived independently, she attended Wednesday night bible study at Pioneer Place Senior Living. Later at Belterra Nursing Home, she attended Sunday bible services. Her faith brought her comfort and strength during her time on earth.
Allies was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Dabner; her father, Henry Hamilton; her daughter, Tina Wells; granddaughter, Teondra; and her sisters - Barbara Harrison, Joy Jenkins, Trixie Ward, and Katherine "Kate" Martin.
A loving mother whose legacy and compassion will be treasured forever, Allies is survived by her son, Byron Wells (Tamla) of Allen, TX; her daughter, Tanya Wells of Des Moines, IA; her son, Phillip Wells of Des Moines, IA; her grandchildren of whom she was very proud - Braxton, Chyron, Brawntae, Dialo, Tyson, Douglas "Littleman," Santana, Sheraye, Stacia, and Bre; several great and great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Marilyn Wilson of Des Moines, IA, and Linda Bradley of Chicago, IL; her brother, Elmer Wells (Carla) of Pueblo, CO; her niece with whom she had a special bond, Stephanie Callister of Missouri City, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Allies Louise (Wells) Russell will be dearly missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.
