ANGEL LUIS COLLAZO PÉREZ
5 NOVIEMBRE 1942 – 23 ABRIL 2026
A Angelo le sobreviven sus hijos Sarah y Preston Dorsey y Milagros Collazo Fernández; nietos Jorge (Diana) Hernández Jr., Javier (Brunette) Hernández, Sergio Hernández, Sofia (John) Butler, John Tubens Collazo, Leonardo Tubens Collazo, Jeneá Dorsey, y Justun Dorsey; bisnietos Briana, Javier Antonio, Amaya, Jaidyn, Aiyanna, Mila, Jaida, Calixto, Joy, Kira, Aria, Branden, Cyrus, y Salina; tataranieta Aubriana; hijo de crianza, Jorge Hernández Sr.; hermanos Collazo Pérez: Juan Alberto (Guani) y Margarita; hermanos Collazo Vazquez: Orlando, José Luis, Edwin, Agustín, Iris, Ruth, Hilda, José A. (Junior), Victor, y Eloisa.

NOVEMBER 5, 1942 – APRIL 23, 2026
Angel Luis (Angelo) Collazo Pérez, 83, of Wylie, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
Born on November 5, 1942, in Guayama, Puerto Rico, Angelo was the son of Alberto Collazo and Dominga Pérez and lived surrounded by a large family united by love. After spending his childhood in Guayama, he moved to New York as a teenager. After also living in Massachusetts and Florida, and returning for a time to his birthplace, he enjoyed his final years in Texas, leaving an indelible mark on every place where he resided.
Material things did not interest Angelo. He preferred to travel, take walks outdoors, and spend time with his family and friends. Angelo loved telling jokes; many reading this page will surely recall a favorite joke that Angelo once shared with them. He also had a deep love for music; he could often be heard singing or whistling his favorite tunes. His favorite artist was Marco Antonio Muñiz, whom he had the opportunity to meet years ago. Although he held various jobs and ventures, his greatest achievement was as a chef.
Those who knew him well would say that Angelo was free-spirited, a smart-mouth, and a true son of his mother. He made a thousand mistakes, yet he spoke of them with great pride. He never sought to be remembered as a saint, which he was not. He knew exactly who he was. He loved us in his own way, and he taught us to love him with that same spirit.
Angelo is survived by his children, Sarah and Preston Dorsey and Milagros Collazo Fernández; his grandchildren, Jorge (Diana) Hernández Jr., Javier (Brunette) Hernández, Sergio Hernández, Sofia (John) Butler, John Tubens Collazo, Leonardo Tubens Collazo, Jeneá Dorsey, and Justun Dorsey; his great-grandchildren, Briana, Javier Antonio, Amaya, Jaidyn, Aiyanna, Mila, Jaida, Calixto, Joy, Kira, Aria, Branden, Cyrus, and Salina; his great-great-granddaughter, Aubriana; Jorge Hernandez, Sr., whom he loved as a son; his Collazo Pérez siblings, Juan Alberto (Guani) and Margarita; and his Collazo Vázquez siblings, Orlando, José Luis, Edwin, Agustín, Iris, Ruth, Hilda, José A. (Junior), Victor, and Eloisa. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were like family to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alberto Collazo and Dominga Pérez; his wife, Guadalupe Fernández; and his siblings, Fina, Luis, Felo, and Junior Pérez Pérez, José (Pepe) Collazo Pérez, and Ismael Collazo Vazquez.
Angelo was not a fan of formalities; therefore, a small celebration of life will be held at his home in Wylie, Texas, on May 17 at 4:00 p.m. Those interested in participating may contact his daughter, Sarah.
We hope that this page will serve to bring us together and share our memories of Angelo; may he rest in peace.
