Angela Gay Obituary

Angela Dewanda Gay was born on April 25, 1963, in Norwalk, Connecticut, to James Milton Gay and Yvonne Lynette Langley. She transitioned to eternity on December 23, 2022, in Plano, Texas.

Angela was the debate team lead at Waynesville High School. She graduated from high school in 1981 and went on to attend the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. In her early years, Angela was employed at Lake of the Ozarks and AT&T. She enjoyed a long-time career at Geico Insurance Company as an insurance agent until her health failed. Angela retired in 1997 due to disability.

Among many hobbies, she delighted in reading, writing, and meeting new people. She never met a stranger. Angela delighted in serving others.  An avid volunteer in helping those that needed assistance with food and shelter in the community of St. Robert, Missouri, she also loved animals. She had a special adoration for horses and her rescue dog, DIOGEE.

Affectionately regarded as “Angie” by some and “Ann” by others, she will be fondly remembered for her intelligent, bold, debating, and funny nature. An avid Dallas Cowboys fan at heart, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Angela was preceded in death by her mother, Yvonne L. Gay, and sister, Randie Gay El-Amin.

Those left to cherish precious memories include her father, James M. Gay; sisters, Beryl Patterson and Sahara Gay; nephew, Larry Patterson, Jr.; niece, Rashida El-Amin; uncles, Donnie Langley and Curtis Langley; aunts - Betty Langley, Judy Rogers, and Lucille Gay; amazing cousins in Norwalk/Bridgeport, Connecticut and North Carolina; very special friend that was like a sister to her, Marage Mitchell; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
