Annie Mae (Paul) Taylor was born on January 7, 1936, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Walter Paul, Sr. and Anna Clara (Rhodes) Paul. On January 11, 2025, in Plano, Texas, she transitioned to eternity with her Lord.
Annie Mae was a proud graduate of Walter L. Cohen Senior High School and continued her education at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Annie Mae enjoyed a career in textiles and clothing design. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, she made the brave decision to relocate to Plano, Texas, in August 2006 after Hurricane Katrina.
Annie Mae was an engaged and devoted member of Pilgrim Progress Missionary Baptist Church in New Orleans, where she served as a dedicated usher for many years. In 2006, she joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, where she continued to be a faithful member until her passing.
Annie Mae was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Taylor, and her siblings - Daniel Paul, Walter Paul, Jr., Albert Paul, Edward Paul, Irene Harris, and Elizabeth Joshua. Those left to cherish precious and lasting memories include her son, Dwayne Taylor, Sr. (Sherrice); her grandchildren - Dwayne Taylor, Jr., LeShay McNeal (Thomas), and Alex Taylor; six great-grandchildren - Brooklyn Taylor, Braelyn Taylor, Sanaa McNeal, Xavier McNeal, Dwayne Taylor III, and Alisa Taylor; her siblings - Fredrick Paul, Mollie McGruder, Dorothy Williams, and Jo Ann Paul; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Annie Mae was known for her unwavering faith, kindness, and commitment to her family and community. She was a pillar of strength for those who knew her and a constant source of encouragement. Her devotion to the Lord and her service to the church was evident in all that she did, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
