Barbara Stewart Obituary

The world was blessed to have Bobbie join us on August 7, 1953, in Bermuda at the family home “Peace Haven”. She transitioned with her daughter holding her hand on January 29, 2021, in Sachse Texas.

Bobbie had a love for life, family and friends. She was a selfless lady that would help anyone in need. She was vivacious, loved music, singing, and dancing. She loved hosting family gatherings and parties with friends. She had a green thumb and her home usually looked like a nursery. She loved the outdoors, going camping, fishing, riding motorcycles and water skiing. She was an extremely strong and independent lady.

She was also known as “Nawni” and loved her granddaughter, Ashley more than life itself; and continued when she was introduced to her great grandson, Makai. He was her true joy and brought more laughter and smiles than one could ever describe. She truly loved her family and considered each and everyone a precious gift in her life.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Simons-Medeiros Levine, father, Johnny Ray Stewart, sister, Katherine “Kitty” Stewart; grandson, Caleb Mikeal: niece, Carri Moore; great nephew Isaac.

Those left to cherish precious memories include her daughter, Casey Moore; granddaughter, Ashley Moore; great grandson, Makai “MVP” Patterson; sister, Sandy Prince and husband David Prince; sister, Suzy “Alfie” Horton; nieces, Brandi Byers, Danielle Horton; nephews, Ricky Byers, Matthew Prince; great nieces, Tara Hoover, Lauren Byers; great nephew, Justin Byers; great-great nephew Carson; Aunt, Delores Monish; Uncles’ Arthur Winchelle, Sonny Winchelle; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will be planning a Celebration of Life later to be determined. We plan to bring her home to Melissa where the celebration of life will commence. We will be planting a memorial tree in her honor.  For those who wish to send flowers, our preference would be donations to the tree of life.
