Billie Jo (Connor) Davis

Billie Jo (Connor) Davis, age 96, of Dallas, Texas was granted her angel wings on September 14, 2026.  She was the first of five children in Itasca, Texas, born to the late Amelia Conner and Mike Bolds on December 29, 1929.

Billie confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at Munger Avenue Baptist Church, where she served at an early age. She attended Booker T. Washington High School in Dallas, Texas.  She went on to attend Prairie View A&M College, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Education. She began her teaching career at Dallas Independent Sschool District and was later hired as the first African American teacher in Arlington Independent School District.

Billie married Jody James Thomas, and two children were born to this union, Garry and Lolita.

Billie loved her family with all her heart.  She treasured the times when her family could gather together around the dinner table, sharing laughter, stories, good food and precious moments that will live in their hearts forever.  She found great joy in cooking for her family and friends.  Nothing brought her greater joy than her grandchildren.  They were truly her pride and joy and she cherished every moment she shared with them.

In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by her special friend, Roy Jones; her daughter, Lolita Thomas; her brothers, Jervie Bolds, William Bolds, and Michael Bolds; and a dear cousin, Joe Diggs.

Billie’s loving memory and legacy is left to be cherished by her son, Garry Thomas (Pamela) of Garland, TX; her brothers, Maryland Bolds (Johnnie) of Waco, TX, and Mark Bolds of Houston, TX; her sister, Gail Stephens of Aubrey, TX; her sister-in-law, Margaret Bolds of Sacramento, CA; her grandsons, Jamie Thomas and Jacory Thomas; her granddaughters, Morgan Thomas and Tyler Thomas; her great-grandchildren, Xavier Thomas, Zion Thomas, and Taitlyn Belo; and a host of cousins and friends.
