Calvin "Cal" Wayne Henry was born on January 23, 1965, in Compton, California, to Willie J. Jones and Novie Lee Henry. He transitioned to eternity with his Lord on April 7, 2022, in Plano, Texas.
In 1983, Calvin graduated from Lake Highlands High School. He went on to attend New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1988.
Affectionately regarded as "Cal" and “C-Daddy”, Calvin enjoyed a longtime career in the information technology industry.
On March 23, 2013, he married the love of his life, DeBorah L. Oliver. To their union, five beautiful children were loved and nurtured. The two remained united in holy matrimony until his transition.
A devoted and amazing husband, proud father, and brother, Calvin accepted Christ at a young age. A former member of First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park in Richardson, Texas under the leadership of Dr. Gregory Foster, and a current member of One Community Church, in Plano, Texas under the leadership of Dr. Conway Edwards, he remained faithful to his faith throughout his life. He delighted in talking on the phone with his twin brother, Alvin, watching the Dallas Cowboys, going to Trader’s Village with his brothers, and serving as the “Family Tech Guy”.
Calvin will be fondly remembered for his kind, reserved, organized, consistent, and generous nature. His gracious spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie J. Jones; mother, Novie Lee Henry; and big auntie, Bertha Jones. Those left to cherish precious memories and carry on his legacy of love include his loving wife, DeBorah L.
