Carlos Alfredo Vera was born on August 7, 1941, in El Paso, Texas. He passed away on July 7, 2025, in Dallas, Texas.
Carlos attended and graduated from Jefferson High School with a GED. He went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963. Carlos enjoyed a career in telecommunications as a lineman for AT&T until his retirement in 2002.
Affectionately known as "Camote," Carlos was a hardworking family man. He married the love of his life, Maria Gomez, on January 30, 1965. Together, they nurtured and loved six beautiful children.
Among many hobbies, Carlos delighted in spreading the love of Christ through his friendly and generous character. His hospitable nature will be missed by all those who loved and knew him.
Carlos is preceded in death by his father, Mauro Vera; mother, Elena Vera (Lopez); brother, Mauro Vera, Jr.; and sister, Maria Victoria Sanchez.
Those left to cherish precious and lasting memories include his beloved wife, Maria C. Vera; daughters, Sara A. Martinez and Lily A. Young; sons: Carlos A. Vera, Jr., Ricardo A. Vera, Mauro Vera, and Juan A. Vera; sister, Dolores Vera; granddaughters: Alyssa J. Silva, Ana K. Love, Mia J. Vera, and Vianey A. Vera; grandsons: Pablo Martinez III, Jared D. Vera, Thomas CD Freye, Alex S. Young, Michael J. Vera, Kaled A. Vera, and Mark A. Vera; and a host of other relatives and friends.
