Carol Sue Taylor was born on May 16, 1955 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the parentage of Willie George Walton and Essie Mae (Gines) Walton. Carol was the 4th of 6 children.
Her commitment to God and dedication to the church began at an early age while growing up at Gospel Temple COGIC in Nacogdoches where she grew in the knowledge of God and developed a love for singing. Her voice touched and ministered to many hearts throughout the years. In 1985, Carol united with and faithfully served at Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas, THE ROCK. Known for her lovely alto voice, Carol was the featured soloist on one of the selections, “Yes and Amen”, from the debut project for Mt. Pisgah Worship CD in 2014.
After graduating from Nacogdoches High School in 1973, Carol attended Prairie View A&M University before settling in Dallas where she began a long and satisfying career with AT&T Communications in 1975 (formerly Southwestern Bell Telephone Company). Carol retired from AT&T in 2007 after 32 years of dedicated service. It was after retirement that Carol discovered her true passion as a realtor and founded CTaylor Realty Group. She earned a reputation as being “The Best Realtor” ever.
Carol was blessed with a beautiful daughter on October 14, 1993, Jalyn Elise Posey. After meeting the love of her life, Franklin Taylor, the two united in holy matrimony on March 30, 2002. Carol loved and cherished family, and she enjoyed hosting family gatherings at their home. Theirs was a home which was always filled with food, laughter, family, and close friends, especially during the holidays.
God summoned an angel home on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 1:05 PM when He called her name, Carol Sue Taylor. She was preceded in death by her father, Willie George Walton; her mother, Essie Mae Walton; and her older brother, Willie Dwayne Walton.
Carol is survived by her husband, Franklin Taylor; daughters: Jalyn Posey, Octavia Taylor, and Courtney Taylor; son, Brandon Stewart; two brothers, George Langston Walton (Diann) of Springfield, VA, and Darrell Walton (Kathy) of Lewisville, TX; two sisters, Loretta Ward (Larry) of Garland, TX and Dorothy Williams of Nacogdoches, TX; six sisters-in-law: Cynthia Taylor, Inger Foust, Sonia Green (Rodrick), Jacqueline Taylor, Briggette Taylor, and Alice Perry; two brothers-in-law, Paris Taylor and Vandell McCary (Audrey); nephews: Kendall Hill (Sonya), Nirel Walton, Davon Quander (Cindy), Corey Ward, Billy Ray Scott, Jr., and Eric Scott (Gladys); nieces: Amber Henry (Valdez), Courtney Thompkins (Arthur), Dana Quander, LaShauyn Harris (Ron), Tia Lankford (Mitchell), Torrolyn Taylor, and Sigrumm Ford (Lewie); and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members; and many beloved friends. Carol also leaves a very special sisterhood, much more than friends and too many to list. From childhood bonds to impenetrable relationships formed through the years, she will be dearly missed by her “Sisters”.
