Cassandra Denise (Palmer) Johnson, affectionately known as "Khriss," "Noonie," and "Khrissy," was born on October 10, 1958, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated from L.B. Landry High School with the Class of 1976.
Cassandra dedicated her life to caring for others through her nursing career. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), she faithfully served patients at DaVita Kidney Care in Dallas, Fresenius Kidney Care in Dallas, Windsor Gardens in Lancaster, and Millbrook Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Lancaster. Her compassion, professionalism, and commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on countless lives. She proudly held the distinction of being the first nurse in her family. After years of devoted service, she retired in December 2022.
On August 20, 2007, Cassandra united in marriage with the love of her life, Hannibal Johnson. The two remained united until her transition.
Cassandra confessed Christ as her Lord and remained steadfast in her walk. She was a devoted member of Thompson Temple Church of God in Christ, where her faith remained an important part of her life.
Cassandra embraced life with joy and enthusiasm. She loved dancing, listening to music, taking walks, cooking, capturing beautiful moments through photography, and most of all, spending precious time with those she loved. She will always be remembered as joyful, free-spirited, charismatic, witty, and a beautiful soul whose laughter and love brightened every room she entered.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Palmer Sr.; her mother, Rose Marie Smalls Palmer Jones, in 2013; her beloved daughter, Christal Wade, in April 2026; and her sister, Ramona D. Norris.
Those left to cherish lasting memories include her husband, Hannibal Nelson Johnson Jr.; her daughter, Dontrell Marie Wade; her son, Quinton Wade; her grandchildren - Jael Rosetta Wade, Niah Chrishell Wade-Garden, Indya Kaylis Norryce, Zariyia Idris Pacely, and Quinton Vernell Wade; her great-grandchildren - Kylah Denise Wade, Noah Zane Garden, and Leo Theodore Norryce; her brothers - Michael W. Palmer Sr., Kenneth W. Palmer, and William Palmer Jr.; her beloved nephew, Allen Christopher; and a host of extended family members, dear friends, and the many whose lives were touched by her love and kindness.
Though Cassandra's physical presence is no longer with us, her legacy of compassion, faith, strength, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved.
