Clifford "Babe" Holloway, Jr. Obituary

Clifford "Babe" Lewis Holloway, Jr. was born on January 13, 1949, in Trenton, New Jersey, to Clifford Lewis Holloway, Sr., and Ella L. Bryant-Holloway. Surrounded by his loving family, he transitioned to eternity on December 29, 2022, in Wylie, Texas.

Clifford graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1966. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1968 and served during the Vietnam Era, receiving an honorable discharge in 1970. During his time of service, Clifford was honored with the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #0058, Dept. KS.

Clifford married the love of his life, Deborah Dixon, on November 18, 1988. The two celebrated 17 years of marriage on November 18, 2005, by renewing their vows. They remained united in holy matrimony until his transition.

In his early years, Clifford was employed at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant and in various constructions. In later years, Clifford enjoyed a longtime career at Individual Support Systems (ISS) as a Personal Care Attendant until he retired in 2008.

Among many hobbies, he enjoyed drawing, cooking, fishing, swimming, jogging, telling jokes, and entertaining his grandchildren most of all. Affectionately regarded as “Babe” by his family, he was given this name by his oldest sister, Jan. He will be fondly remembered for his artistic abilities, intelligence, and service as a soldier. His loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Lewis Holloway, Sr. and Ella L. Bryant-Holloway; son, Christopher Holloway; brother, Tyree Holloway; and parents-in-law, Charles Dixon, Jr. and Millie Dixon.
