Countess Yvonne Journet was born on July 7, 1962 in Harris County, Texas. She transitioned to be with the Lord on Friday, September 10, 2021.
Countess and her sister, Sharon, spent the majority of her childhood years in Orange, Texas, with parents Corlin and Jessie Journet. In 1981, she graduated from Lincoln High School and continued her life in Dallas, Texas, where she raised her family and worked in the customer service industry until she eventually retired as an administrative manager with Red Oak Driving School.
Among many hobbies, Countess had a great passion for cooking; she was a culinary enthusiast. Her greatest delight, however, was spending time with her family.
Countess accepted Christ in her life at an early age attending church with her grandfather and grandmother, Jesse and Dorlena Harvey. She was a member of Jubilee Church and later attended Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship.
She is survived by her five children who meant the world to her - Takia (43), Eboney (38), Ashley (37), DeMarcus (35), and Jazmond (34); numerous grandchildren - Xaiver, Jeremy, and Elijah Abernathy (Takia Journet), Madison and Jordan Myers (Shane and Eboney Myers), London Williams (Ashley Journet), and Karson, Jaiden and Jordan Journet (Jazmond and Ashlie Journet); her sister, Sharon Mayes (Calvin Mayes); and her niece, Brittany Bennett.
