Darryl Clemons Burns was born January 30th, 1967, in Los Angeles, California, to George and Dorothy Burns. He was the secondborn of two children.
Darryl graduated from James Monroe High School in North Hills, California, on June 20, 1985. He continued his education at Grambling State University in Louisiana and graduated on July 10th, 1992, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology.
After graduating, Darryl devoted his time and energy to teaching young children in Louisiana. Darryl had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel like family, never a stranger, and cherished time with his loved ones. He found joy in music, loved to dance, and was an enthusiastic sports fan who enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams. He attended services at Wadsworth Church of God in Los Angeles, California. Known for his warm spirit, big smile, and steady presence, he brought laughter, love, and connection to all who knew him.
On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, Darryl transitioned peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy Burns; his brother, Douglas Burns; and his grandparents.
He is survived by his loving Aunt Shirley Clemons, who was a second mother to him, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
We hold Darryl’s memory close, finding comfort in the love and laughter he shared so freely. He remains a cherished part of us all.
"The Broken Chain"
You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
