David Doyle, Jr. was the second child born to the union of Ethel Mae Carter Doyle and David Doyle, Sr. on June 11, 1949, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He grew up in Port Allen, Louisiana where his family joined Scott Chapel which is now Scott United Methodist Church. David was baptized on November 29, 1949, by Pastor F.D. Timmons. He attended Cohn Elementary through Cohn High School in the West Baton Rouge Parish school system. While attending Cohn High School, David played football as a defensive guard for the Eagles.
After high school, he attended Southern University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation, David joined Bell Labs in Schenectady, New York and from there he began to work for General Electric in Dallas, Texas. David later joined Texas Instruments Defense Division which became Raytheon Systems. After 30 years of service, he retired in 2013. David received several acknowledgments and awards for project and audit completion efforts.
On May 26, 1978, David married the love and life partner of his life, Carolyn Coulter of Dallas, Texas. To their union, a baby girl was born...Crystil Davon Doyle…"Daddy’s Girl".
David joined St. Paul United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas where he was a faithful and active member for over 40 years. He also served in several leadership positions on various boards and committees, including the Admin Board which is currently known as the Church Council or Governance Board, SPPRC, Trustee Board, and Finance Committee; he was a part of the finance counting team.
David enjoyed traveling. He also enjoyed attending family reunions and sporting events with his close friends, especially football and baseball games. He delighted in spending leisure time in Port Allen on the porch with his brother, Robert, and other family and friends.
Besides his love for his wife and daughter, he loved his siblings - Janice, Robert, Cynthia, Anica, Sharon, and Marlene, and their children. Growing up, David had a special connection with his uncle, Ellis Ray.
David transitioned to eternity with his Lord and Savior on April 5, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Janice Doyle and Anica Doyle, niece, Tiffany Doyle; and great-nephew, Royce Doyle.
Those left to cherish precious memories include his devoted wife, Carolyn; loving daughter, Crystil of Houston, TX; brother, Robert Doyle of Port Allen, LA; sisters: Cynthia Doyle-Lewis (Charles) of Port Allen, LA, Sharon Doyle of Port Allen, LA, and Marlene Doyle of Port Allen, LA; mother-in-law, Gloria Coulter of Dallas TX; uncles, David Coulter of Dallas, TX and Ellis Ray Doyle (Elaine) of Baton Rouge, LA; sisters-in-law: Cecelia Wagner of Dallas, TX, Sheila Lewis (Dwayne) of Dallas, TX, and Lenitta Wilson (Sylvester) of Dallas, TX; brother-in-law, Roderick Michael Coulter of Dallas, TX; host of very special nephews and nieces and great-nephews and nieces; great-great-nephew; and many cousins and friends.
