Deleora Jo (Smith) Holmes

Deleora Jo Holmes, of Garland, Texas, passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 73. She was born on November 20, 1951, to her loving parents, D. L. Smith and Ennie (Washington) Smith. She lived a vibrant life filled with love and laughter.

Deleora was married to her beloved spouse Oscar Holmes for 47 wonderful years, and together, they had 8 children. She was a dedicated mother to Yolanda, Stacy, Shonda, Taneça, Oscar Jr., Djuan, Nakisha, and Acie. She was also a proud grandmother of 18 grandchildren and lots of great-grandchildren. Deleora was preceded in death by her parents and siblings - Doris Jean, Louise, and Leola Etois Smith. Those left to cherish precious memories include her children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers - Cleophus Smith, Ira Smith, and Kenneth Smith; and her sister, Laverne Smith.

Deleora was known for her warm smile, big heart, and infectious laughter. She had a passion for reading, listening to music, and dancing and shared these hobbies with her friends and family.

Despite her passing, Deleora will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her children and grandchildren, who will forever cherish the love and laughter she brought to their lives. Rest in peace, Momma. Your light will continue to shine bright in the hearts of those who loved you.
