Demetria Ya’Vonne (Spears) Nixon was born on April 9, 1979, in Omaha, Nebraska. She transitioned to eternity with her Lord on March 14, 2022, in Dallas, Texas.
Affectionately regarded as “Diva Dee”, “The Diamond Princess”, and “TJones”, Demetria graduated from Marvell High School in Marvell, Arkansas, in 1998. She went on to attend Collin County Community College in Plano, Texas where she earned an Associate Degree in Business in 2018.
Among many hobbies, Demetria enjoyed singing, writing, cooking, watching reality tv shows, and playing games on her iPad. Most of all, she delighted in spending time with her grandchildren and planning family vacations. Demetria will be fondly remembered for her caring, energetic, friendly, and passionate nature. Her loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Demetria was preceded in death by her stepfathers, Lonestar Albert and Stephon Brown; uncles, Robert Spears, Jr. (Uncle Mel) and Charles Lee Reddick; and cousin, Art Chaney.
Those left to cherish precious memories include her children – Shania Nixon, DeMontaye Nixon (Angela), and Kyelaund Nixon; grandchildren – Khyran-Carter Demetrius Nixon and Kailynn-Rose Nicole Nixon; parents, Carita Albert Spears and Benndrick Watson (Angie); siblings, Felicia Spears (Carl) and Albert Spears (Monique); maternal grandparents, Robert and Corine Spears; paternal grandmother, Josephine Watson; goddaughter, Savannah Reed; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
