Diane Dickson Obituary

A strong, loving, and faithful woman whose light will forever shine in the hearts of those she touched.

Diane Farris Dickson was born on November 28, 1954, in Carthage, Missouri. From a young age, she carried herself with quiet strength, a deep sense of love, and an unwavering faith that guided her through every season of life.

A proud graduate of the Carthage High School Class of 1972, Diane later went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, an achievement that reflected her determination and lifelong love of learning. Her work ethic and dedication were evident throughout her career. Diane spent over 20 years with Safeway in her hometown of Carthage, later contributing nearly a decade to Bank of America, and ultimately serving with Mr. Cooper until her retirement this year. Her colleagues remember her as loyal, dependable, always kind, and a steady light in every workplace she joined.

Known affectionately as “Nana” and “Mom" or "Mommy,” Diane’s greatest joy in life came from her family. Her children and granddaughter were her world, and she poured her heart into every hug, every word of encouragement, and every moment shared together. Whether she was cheering on her loved ones, cooking a meal, or simply spending quiet time at home, Diane’s love was a constant, and always warm, unconditional, and unshakable.

Her faith was her foundation. As a devoted Christian and active member of One Community Church, Diane found strength, comfort, and community in her relationship with God. Even through life’s most difficult battles, her faith never wavered. When asked how she was doing, her response was always "blessed and highly favored".

Diane faced a long and courageous fight with cancer, showing remarkable grace, strength, and perseverance every step of the way. She never let her illness define her meeting each day with courage, gratitude, and love for those around her.

She will always be remembered as strong, loving, faithful, loyal, and inspirational; a woman whose spirit touched everyone she met.

Diane was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Marcella Dickson; her brothers, Harry, Howie, Curtis, Scottie, and Mackie Dickson; and her nephew, Tony Jackson.

She leaves behind a family who adored her and will forever carry her memory in their hearts: Her son and daughter-in-law, Andre' and Nicole Dickson, and her precious granddaughter, Kiersten Dickson; Her daughter, Renee' Dickson; Her sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Norman Jackson; Erika Jackson, Tennley Jackson, and Leanne Ross; Norman Jackson Jr., Michael Jackson, Dmitri Strickland, Dorian Strickland, and Harper Kessler; and a host of extended family members and friends who loved her deeply.

Diane’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, faith, and strength. Though her earthly journey has ended, her spirit continues to live on in the hearts of her family, in the memories they cherish, and in the faith that sustained her.

Forever our Nana, our Mom, our inspiration, we will love and remember her always.
