Donald Ray Johnson was born to Vernon Johnson, Sr. and Opal (Turner) Johnson on February 9, 1953, in Dallas, Texas. He transitioned to eternity on September 18, 2022, in Dallas, Texas.
Affectionately regarded as “Don”, Donald graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 1971. He went on to attend Prairie View A & M University in Prairie View, Texas. Donald enjoyed a longtime career at Cheerleaders as a Wood Crafter.
Donald accepted Christ at an early age. He united with Hamilton Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas under the leadership of Dr. Zan W. Holmes. He continued his membership under the leadership of Dr. Sheron C. Patterson.
Among many hobbies, Donald enjoyed going to the grocery store, cooking, reading the Bible, and watching football. In his early years, he loved working on cars. He will be fondly remembered for his kind and humble nature. He always cared about others and was always willing to help. Donald loved his parents and his family. His loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Sr. and Opal Johnson. Those left to cherish precious memories include his brother, Vernon Johnson, Jr. (Tonya); three sisters - Dorothy Jean Skeins, Ruth Ann Dotsy (Charles), and Lois Marie Coleman; nieces - Sonya Eng (Bob), Ashley Leduff (Kristopher), Carla McElroy (Jerry), and Brigitte Stokes; nephews - Brandon Coleman, Patrick Johnson, Vernon “JJ” Johnson III, and Stan Skeins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
