Donald Ray Pierce was born on March 23, 1952, to the late Edward Pierce and Pearl Brown in McKinney, Texas. He left a great impact on us all as he departed this life on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024, surrounded by family and friends.
Donald confessed Christ at an early age and attended Mt.Calvary Baptist Church in Farmersville, Texas. He received his education at Welford Elementary and later received his GED.
He married the love of his life, Deborah Smith, on July 17, 2008. Honoring their vows, in health and sickness, the two remained united until his transition.
Among many hobbies, Donald enjoyed playing pool and fixing up cars. He also took great pride in his appearance and was a very sharp dresser.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, Edward Pierce; mother, Pearl Brown; three sisters: Carolyn Johnson, Ora Pierce, and Betty Hicks; brother, Clarence Pierce; and great-granddaughter, Autumn Adkins.
Those left to cherish lasting memories include his devoted wife, Deborah Smith-Pierce; his five daughters: Donna Pierce Pipkins, Sherry Turner, Cortez Clemons, Maggie Clay, and Dawn Hines; his five sons: Donald Pierce, Jr., Quincy Hartman, Andrae Smith, Derric Smith, and Douglas Key, Jr; his three sisters: Jackie Brooks, Renee Sears, and Gloria Jones; his three brothers: Edward Pierce, Jr., Eddie Pierce, and Freddie Pierce; his best friend, JB Ervin; a special niece and nephew, Audra Antwine and Paul Johnson; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Special gratitude is extended to Legend Oaks Rehabilitation, Richardson Methodist ICU Team, Mary Myers, Joyce Crowley, and Donald's daughter, Donna Pierce Pipkins, for their time and dedication in caring for our beloved Donald.
