Doris Eileene Fly Elizalde passed on to join her Lord and Savior in heaven on August 19, 2024 at the age of 86 in Rowlett, Texas. She was born on September 2, 1937 in Reeds Spring, Missouri to the late Manford and Mazie Fly. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Mickey Page, and siblings, Ivon Saltkill, Mildred Anderson, George Periman, Juda Kay Wills, Eulane “Jack” Perriman and Marvin Fly.
Doris was a resident of Reeds Spring, Missouri and was a 1955 graduate of Springfield High School. In1960 she married Herbert Page in Springfield, Missouri and began her life as a Marine Corp wife, which led her family to live in many different states. While living in Barstow, California, Doris went to college and studied accounting. She was the first child in her family to attend college. She worked until retirement for Ashland Chemical, displaying her accounting skills. After retirement, Doris also worked the last 22 years at Comfort Keepers of Dallas, and was instrumental in helping her daughter, Lori Nesler, start the business.
It has been said, “Perhaps our greatest accomplishment in life are the children we raised.” This is true of Doris who considered motherhood her highest calling. Doris was a devoted mother of three, grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of six. She was very compassionate and mothered many children besides her own. Doris always had the ability to make anyone feel welcomed. She was known as Mamma (pronounced “Mammaw”) to her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Doris was outgoing and loved exploring and going on to the beach. Her biggest passions were her family, cooking and gardening. The family cruise with all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren precisely one month before her passing will be forever a treasured family memory.
Doris is survived by her sister, Joyce Fly of Springfield, Mo; her daughters, Lori Nesler of Garland, Tx and Dana Abbott of Rowlett, Tx; Grandchildren, Amber McIntosh (Shingai) of Columbia, Mo, Justin Nesler (Stephanie) of Edwardsville, Ill, Ashlynd Coffey-Page (Jon) of Iberia, Mo, Arik Abbott of Rowlett, Tx, Adrianna Abbott of Rowlett, Tx and Ashleigh Abbott of Rowlett, Tx; Great-grandchildren, Karleigh Dusenberry, Callan Nesler, Corbin Dusenberry, Kelsey Nesler, Ariko Samudzi and Yara Samudzi, and many nieces and nephews.
