Dorothy Jean (Arnold) McCain was born in Dalhart, Texas, on April 22, 1935, to Martin Luther Arnold and Mamie Gertrude (Grey) Arnold. She passed away on January 14, 2025, in Rockwall, Texas.
Dorothy graduated from Stratford High School. She went on to enjoy a career in food service and protein management. After many years of dedicated service, Dorothy retired in 1998. She continued to volunteer at various hospitals during her years of retirement.
Affectionately regarded as "Dot", she married the love of her life, Travis McCain, Sr., on January 27, 1972. The two remained united in holy matrimony until her transition.
Dorothy accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and remained steadfast in her faith. She loved to serve and care for others.
Among many hobbies, Dorothy loved watching the Dallas Cowboys, playing basketball as a child and young adult, and spending time with her family and friends. In her later years, she enjoyed her Thursday visits to the beauty shop.
She will be fondly remembered for her affectionate, compassionate, considerate, kind-hearted nature. Her loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Martin Luther Arnold; mother, Mamie Gertrude (Grey) Arnold; daughter, Debbie Claudill; son, Morris Turner; and step-brother, Russell Arnold. Those left to cherish fond memories include her husband of 52 years, Travis McCain, Sr.; her sisters, Mary Wylie and Velma Ruth Burkham; her daughter, Lillian Stringer; her son, Michael Turner; her son, Travis McCain, Jr., and his wife, April; her grandchildren - Amanda, Jessie, Sara, Kayla, Amy, Jared, Joanne, and Jason; her great-grandchildren - Brayden, Cooper, Jackson, Eli, Levi, Courtney, and Maxwell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
