Dunrue Omelia (Jackson) Wilson was born in Warsaw, Virginia on October 8, 1936. She transitioned to eternity with her Lord in Richardson, Texas, on February 13, 2025.
Dunrue, affectionately known as "Jackie", graduated high school in May of 1958 and attended Virginia State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics in 1964. She enjoyed a career in interior design, retiring in 1998. (Where she was recognized for her interior decorating accomplishments with magazine articles in Black Enterprise, Decorating Den, and Entrepreneur, to name a few.
On February 25, 1959, she married the love of her life, Alfred Eugene Wilson. The two remained united in holy matrimony until his transition.
Dunrue accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at her childhood church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Warsaw, and remained steadfast in her faith. She was a member of North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship where she served in the Prayer Ministry, Singles Ministry, and numerous other ministries.
Among many hobbies, Dunrue delighted in all things interior design. She received notable achievements and recognition from her interior decorating business. Nonetheless, she most loved serving the Lord.
Dunrue will be remembered for her courageous, social, happy, and intelligent nature. Her beautiful spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Eugene; daughter, Debbie; grandparents; mother; father; and siblings - Leonard, Cornelius, Vernon, and Calvin.
Those left to cherish lasting memories include her daughter, Dari Wilson; son, Dwayne Wilson; brother, Christopher Jackson, Sr. (Louise); sisters, Earlene Jackson and Ida Hite (Gene); and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
