Ernest Parks, Sr. was born on August 6, 1955, to James Chambers, Sr. and Mary Etta (Ervin) Parks. He was a loving husband, devoted father, loyal brother, and cherished friend whose life reflected strength, wisdom, perseverance, and an unwavering dedication to family and service.
Ernest graduated from East Technical High School in Cleveland, Ohio. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. After receiving an honorable discharge, he continued his education and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences and Engineering, as well as a Master’s degree in Mathematics.
Ernest built a successful and respected career working with Texas Instruments, Abbott Laboratories, Raytheon, and E-Systems. He took tremendous pride in his work and deeply enjoyed the profession he established for himself. Sadly, following an accident in 2008, he was forced to retire from the career he truly loved.
Above all, Ernest treasured his family. Those left to cherish lasting memories include his loving wife, Fannie Parks; his daughter, Tywanda Parks; his son, Ernest Parks, Jr.; his granddaughter, Brianna Michelle Wade; his sisters, Shirley Washington (Albert), Constance Wilkes (Bill), Ethel Parks, and Denise Chambers; his brothers, Leon Chambers, Bobby Chambers, Ronnie Chambers, Melvin Chambers, Derrick Parks, Daniel Chambers, and Jason Parks; and his special brother, Mike Williams, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Chambers, Sr. and Mary Etta (Ervin) Parks; his maternal and paternal grandparents; his brothers, Jerome Parks, James Chambers, Jr., Curtis Chambers, Stanford Parks, Richard Parks, and Robert Parks; his sister, Linda Chambers; his grandson, Frank Anderson Wade Jr.; his nephews, Michael Parks and Devonte Parks; and his brother-in-law, A.J. Gillam.
Ernest Parks, Sr. will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his honorable service, remarkable intelligence, kind spirit, and the enduring love he shared with his family and all who knew him.
