Ethel Lois (Alexander) Jones was born on December 14, 1930, to Hubbard Alexander, Jr. and Viola Crutcher Alexander. Ethel Lois was born and raised in Forney, Texas. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Forney, Texas in 1950.
While a student at Booker T. Washington High School, Ethel Lois was an avid basketball player. She loved sports, cooking, and being with her family. She doted on her sisters and brothers and especially her grands. She wanted to help everybody. She was funny, kind, and considerate.
Ethel Lois confessed her faith in God at an early age and united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Forney, Texas. She was a long-time member of Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.
Ethel Lois was employed at Blue Ribbon Cleaners and Baylor University Medical Center, where she later retired.
Ethel Lois united in holy matrimony to James Jones, Jr. on October 19, 1952, and God blessed them with three children.
Ethel Lois was preceded in death by her husband, James Jones, Jr., her parents, Hubbard Alexander, Jr. and Viola Crutcher Alexander; six brothers, Walter Dixon Alexander, Clarence James Alexander, Roy Alexander, June Alexander, Rev. Frederick Eugene Alexander, and Earlie Alexander; and four sisters, Beatrice Alexander Chavers, Mildred Amanda Alexander Fulcher, Cora Mae Alexander Smith, and Mary Lynn Black. Those left to cherish memories include her two sons, Michael Allan Jones, Sr. (Patty) and James Earl Jones; her daughter, Debra Zarifa Zarif; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; her sisters, Dr. Bobbie Jean Alexander Thompson and Hazel Price: her sisters-in-law, Muriel Alexander and Luella Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
