Floyd Alexander, Jr. Obituary

Floyd Joe Alexander, Jr. was born on November 9, 1948, to Floyd Joe Alexander, Sr. and Mary Frances (Rann) Alexander in Dallas, Texas. Floyd was baptized in the Catholic faith. He passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2024, in Garland, Texas, with family at his side.

Floyd graduated from Justin F. Kimball High School in 1967. He worked several jobs including Sears before joining the Army in 1970, and he served in Vietnam until he was injured and honorably discharged. Floyd also worked for Trinity Industries, Prior Industries, and Touchstone Imaging before retiring in 2019.

He was an avid Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan, and loved the Dallas Cowboys, fishing, traveling, and his family. He especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren.

Floyd was preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers, Richard Vincent Alexander and Walter Franklin Williams; nephew, Richard Darrell Williams; and great-nephew, Kane Christopher De La Torre. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Nina Kaganovich Alexander; his son, Robert Alexander and wife Sonja; his daughter, Sherri Alexander; his stepsons, Denis Kaganovich and wife Larisa and Dima Kaganovich and wife Natalia; his sister, Darlene Alexander Fleeman; his grandchildren -  Heather Spawn and husband Blake, Hunter Alexander, Garret Turner, Colton Turner, Vychslav Kaganovich and wife Natalia, Andrey Kaganovich, Daniel Kaganovich, and Denis Kaganovich; his great-grandsons, Lane Spawn and Arthem Kaganovich; his nieces - Jennifer Elrod, Lori De La Torre and husband Aaron, and Stacy Williams; and a host of extended family and friends.

The Alexander family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Gold Star Hospice and Grace Home Health for their loving care.

The interment will be at DFW National Cemetery at 11:00 AM.

All are asked to follow the hearse into LANE 1 at 10:45 AM.
