Gary Wilson Obituary

Gary Wilson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Born on November 4, 1954, to Ben and Minnie Wilson in Plainview, Texas, Gary passed away on December 4, 2022, in Dallas, Texas.

A Class of ‘73 graduate of Tascosa in Amarillo, Texas, he later attended Amarillo College for Drafting and Computer-Aided Design. Affectionately regarded as "Gator", an Experimental Aircraft Assembly Engineer at Bell Helicopter before retiring in 2012 after 39 years to pursue his calling as a bass assassin, family fishing guide and Papa.

Gary, a sports enthusiast, treasured watching the ball games with his dad in his youth, and all types of sports with his wife, sons, and grandchildren. A lover of the outdoors and diehard fisherman, his church was on the water, closest to God.

A believer in Christ, master tinker and builder of men, always happy to help, passing on his life knowledge to others. Gary will be fondly remembered for his patient, private, giving, and supportive nature. His loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Minnie Wilson; sister, Helen Bryan; and brothers, Curtis and Roy Wilson.

Those left to cherish memories include his wife, Cathy; sons, Chris and Jeremy; daughters-in-law, Daphne and Amy; grandchildren, Ben and Emma; brothers, Benny and Kenny; and sister Linda.
