Georgia Mae Hampton, age 71, of Dallas, Texas passed into her everlasting home on Sunday, July 30, 2023.
Georgia was born to the late George and Ollie Tunstall on November 3, 1951, in Mobile, Alabama. She received her formal education from Mobile County Public Schools and was a graduate of Central High School. She enjoyed a longtime career in customer service. After over 20 years of faithful service as part of the Hilton Reservation team, Georgia retired in 2019.
Georgia received Christ at an early age at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Prichard, Alabama. She later became a Member of New Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Garland, Texas.
Throughout her years, Georgia enjoyed cooking; all those within a plate's distance enjoyed eating her food. She loved listening to music, watching all the teams during football season, and getting together with family and friends for any occasion. She enjoyed traveling which brought her to Chicago where she planted roots for more than a decade. Ultimately, she landed in Texas and called Dallas home for the remainder of her days. Georgia found joy and peace while fishing, which was perfect since she found all seafood to be "scrumptious". She also enjoyed playing games like Uno and Pool, but she especially enjoyed a spirited game of Trouble.
Georgia was preceded in death by her father, George Tunstall; mother, Ollie Westry; sister, Willie Mae Mabry; and brothers, George Tunstall, Jr. and Howard Autry.
Those left to cherish precious memories include her sister, Cynthia Jackson; brothers: Larry Tunstall (Yolanda), Donald Tunstall (Deborah), and Melvin Tunstall; sister-in-law, Denell Autry; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
