Harold Douglas Alexander was born on January 15, 1951, to Clarence and Julia (Grant) Alexander in Dallas, Texas. He transitioned to eternity with his Lord on March 23, 2022.
Harold attended Hamilton Park High School where he was a distinguished student and athlete. In 1969, he graduated and went on to attend Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. There, he majored in Industrial Relations. In 1974, he graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree. Upon graduation, Harold enjoyed a longtime career at General Motors, Motors Insurance Corporation Division, as a Senior Multi-lines Claims Adjuster with specialization in heavy duty equipment. After 35 years of service, Harold retired in 2012.
Harold accepted Christ at a young age. From a child until his transition, he remained a member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Affectionately regarded as "Sug" and "Sugar Bear", he enjoyed many hobbies, including yardwork and car restoration. With an unparalleled devotion to his family, he was a dutiful caregiver to his parents until their transitions in 2016 and 2018. His love was boundless, and he will be fondly remembered for his extremely intelligent, reserved, and distinguished nature. He will be especially remembered for his compassion. His loyal and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Julia (Grant) Alexander; and brother, John Alexander. Those left to cherish precious memories include his brother, James Alexander, Sr. (Ingrid); sister, Rosiland Alexander, with whom he shared a special relationship; dear aunt, Bobbie Jean (Alexander) Thompson; special friends, Shirley Alexander and Lenvi Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
