Born on July 5, 1933, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Helen Irene (Patrick) Crenshaw was the sixth of eleven children born to Tom and Ora Lee Patrick.
She became a Christian early in life and was gentle, kind, and strong. These attributes were displayed throughout her life.
She met Robert Thorns and had two children. Later, she married Roscoe Crenshaw, Sr. and had eight children.
During her career, she worked as a School Safety Crossing Guard and a Nursing Home Caregiver.
She was active at St. Andrew Baptist Church as a Church Secretary in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After relocating to Garland, Texas, she joined Keller Springs Baptist Church where she was active as a New Member Orientation Leader.
Her favorite scripture was Matthew 6:34 (KJV) - “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof”.
