Henry Cunningham Obituary

So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. Matthew 24:44 NIV

Henry Arthur Cunningham was born on June 30, 1969, to George and Earline Cunningham in Bastrop, Louisiana. He transitioned to eternity with his Lord on March 1, 2024, in Forney, Texas.

Henry graduated from Delta High School in Mer Rouge, Louisiana, in 1987. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served for eight years, earning several deployment ribbons and service medals. He was honorably discharged and later settled in Dallas, Texas, where his entrepreneurial intuition led him to create his own successful mobile car detail business, “Shine So Bright Professional Detailing Service”.

Henry was raised in a Christian home. His parents’ motto was “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”. At an early age, under the leadership of Reverend Wroten, Henry confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior at Mount Zion #5 Missionary Baptist Church in Jones, Louisiana. Later, under the leadership of Reverend Isiah Joshua, he united with Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, where he served in the Brotherhood ministry.

Henry was known for his outgoing personality and was always the life of the party with his jokes and fascinating stories. He was a die-hard Saints fan and an avid outdoorsman. Henry also enjoyed all things related to farming, hunting and wildlife, but his greatest interest and past time was his Fedoras and old school car, a 1969 Pontiac Bonneville.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, George and Earline Cunningham; sister, Betty Cunningham; and brother, Larry Cunningham. Those left to cherish lasting memories include his brother, Thomas Cunningham of Jones, Louisiana; his three sisters - Patsy Cunningham of Phoenix, Arizona, Angela Cunningham of Garland, Texas, and Areatha Cunningham of Garland, Texas; his aunt, Joanne Toston (Larry) of West Monroe, Louisiana; his uncle, William Rogers of San Antonio, Texas; his cousins with whom he shared a special bond, Jhacoby Toston of Celina, Texas and Burrell Parmer of San Antonio, Texas; and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
